Leading the way: Two markers frame the current day on the NOMOS ring date. On the deep blue dial with silver-colored numerals and indexes, they are white-just like the date in the additional window at 6 o’clock. The dual date display shows the big picture while keeping track of the details. Tangente 2date is the first hand-wound model to feature the exclusive ring date. And is somewhat more compact than the neomatik update model: the case diameter is 37.5 millimetres.
Tangente, with its straight lines and narrow serif font, has long been a beloved watch model. As Tangente 2date, it is now a dating pro. The blue model looks so admirably cool because the dial is polished and smoothed down before electroplating.
The grooves on the traditionally recessed sub-seconds dial are called azurage. The seconds hand is rhodium-plated and the differing shape of the indexes here adds an additional accent.
This date caliber effectively showcases the NOMOS swing system, our proprietary escapement. This innovative component with a blue balance spring is surrounded by fine sunbeam ribbing. It not only enhances the three-quarter plate, which is a traditional feature of Glashutte watchmaking, but also incorporates the plate of the date ring around the movement. To make the NOMOS swing system even easier to observe, the balance cock has been elegantly skeletonized.
And that’s just the exterior of this fine movement. The picture does not show the mainspring barrel, which can store power for 52 hours. The quick-set date is also particularly convenient. You can easily jump forward in time with just a few turns of the crown. To do so, the crown must be pulled into the second of three positions.
