The moon phase display presents an especially striking union of functionality and aesthetics: at Glashutte Original, the moon disc is elaborate crafted in-house. In this model, it is fashioned in German silver and subsequently galvanised blue. Two round moons are then carefully diamond-milled, which gives them their convex form and silvery brilliance. Although the moon disc has two moons, the small cut-out in the dial only ever shows one moon in its various phases.
Artfully crafted dial
The slender bezel permits a generous view of the lacquered dial with its fine silver graining, the laser-cut galvanic black indexes and the matching railroad chapter ring. The delicate minute numerals are printed in bright red, and both the moon phase display and the signature Panorama Date are given pride of place on the dial. Blued, pear-shaped hands and a filigree seconds hand make a glance at the time a real pleasure.
