This Senator Excellence recalls historic observation watches and is presented in a 40 mm diameter stainless steel case. Polished and satin-brushed surfaces on the case reflect the light, the brand’s signature Double-G logo adorns the finely fluted crown. The sapphire crystal case back enables superb views of the finely finished automatic movement. A strap in black calfskin or grey synthetic fabric ensures a secure fit on the wrist.

The hand-crafted dial has a matt black surface and finely curved Arabic numerals. The generous application of Super-LumiNova ensures optimal visibility even under difficult light conditions: the luminous material on the sword-shaped hour and minute hands, on the tip of the seconds hand and the hour numerals provides clarity in the dark. A white railroad chapter ring and 5-minute markers generate additional contrasts.

The characteristic Glashutte finishes and construction features of the manufacture’s movement Calibre 36 are recognisable at first glance: the typical three-quarter plate and skeletonised rotor with Glashutte stripe finish and oscillating mass in 21-carat gold, perlage finish, beveled edges, polished steel parts as well as fine decorative finishing on the wheels and rotor track.
Certified quality
The use of a silicon balance spring renders this model insensitive to magnetic fields and changes in temperature. The innovative bayonet mounting of the movement in the case provides optimal shock resistance. Following assembly, each Senator Excellence undergoes a comprehensive 24-day series of in-house tests, which exceed the requirements of the German chronometer standard. The test results are documented in the form of a certificate, and owners can access the detailed information about the performance of their watch through an exclusive online portal.
